Vuepoint Unveils Enterprise-Wide Vuepoint Learning System 2.0 To Create Smarter, More Competitive Organizations

Software enables dynamic knowledge management in an e-learning environment

LONG ISLAND, N.Y., Sept. 26, 2000 - Vuepoint, a comprehensive e-learning company with a business-savvy approach, unveils enterprise-wide Vuepoint Learning System (VLS) 2.0 to create smarter organizations by incorporating dynamic knowledge management into e-learning. VLS 2.0 allows the integration of proprietary documents into real-time online classrooms or self-paced settings so that instructors can easily share documents during training or a group can collaboratively edit and update documents.

Vuepoint has helped us deliver powerful results by providing the ability to quickly publish content to our global audience of over 15,000 employees," said Bill Knapp, Senior Manager, Global Virtual Learning Infrastructure. On a real-time basis, we're able to funnel our entire organization's up-to-the minute insight and knowledge into our training sessions as well as update proprietary content for programs such as e-business. It's become a significant competitive advantage."

A one-stop shop for creating smarter organizations, Vuepoint's enterprise-wide software and professional services aid in speed-to-market advantages, improved productivity, employee retention, and lower costs. Our vision for e-learning is not just about creating intelligent organizations," said Ara Ohanian, CEO of Vuepoint. E-learning will quickly become known as the key to making a company effective and competitive."

Creating e-learning courses is time consuming. According to the American Society of Training and Development, developing one hour of electronic content can take approximately 200 to 500 hours. Vuepoint shrinks development hours down to 40, dramatically beating the industry average. It achieves this by providing a zero-programming authoring environment tied to a back-end database that enables a higher level of interactivity as well as automated real-time tracking. A new comment feature in VLS 2.0 makes content creation even faster by giving course designers working in different countries and time zones the ability to collaborate easily and conveniently, saving time and money by eliminating the need for meetings and travel.

Vuepoint's learning management capability also enables companies to schedule classroom training, conduct registration, streamline assessments using the online system and save hundreds of hours of administrative busywork.

New to VLS 2.0 is Offline Viewer, a feature that allows users to learn anytime or anywhere. Developed in response to customer feedback as a way to deliver knowledge to a mobile workforce, Offline Viewer gives a learner the option of taking a course while traveling on a plane, for instance. Learners take only the instruction they need, when and where they wish, so productivity soars and billable hours expand. Next time learners get online, Offline Viewer automatically uploads tracking information and scores to the VLS server, ready for real-time access.

VLS 2.0 adapts to each learner to create a unique, personal experience, increasing knowledge transfer and retention. VLS 2.0 personalizes learning by giving users the option to test out of familiar subject matter and focus on weak spots, thus boosting skills while reducing frustration and boredom. A learner can also chart his progress by viewing course registration, completion and scores. All the while, management can access reports to get a bird's-eye view of progress of the organization as a whole, including employees within a geographical region or a specific individual.

Vuepoint Learning System can be incorporated into a client's own network or based on a turnkey ASP model. Instructors or subject matter experts can easily create courses, complete with custom visuals, with no programming expertise whatsoever. The IT-friendly system can be deployed and go live within a day, increasing speed-to-market advantages, lowering costs and compressing rollout cycles for a new product or service.
