Vuepoint Names Preston Dodd, Former Jupiter Communications Analyst, as Director of Strategic Alliances

After years as hands-on practitioner and industry analyst, Dodd chooses Vuepoint for strength of eLearning industry, quality of management team, and merit of software and services

LONG ISLAND, N.Y., Oct. 23, 2001 - Vuepoint, an eLearning software and services company that matches speed to knowledge with speed to market, announces that Preston Dodd, former senior analyst at Jupiter Communications, has joined Vuepoint as director of strategic alliances. In this role, Mr. Dodd will cultivate and manage alliances and channel partnerships and will also oversee analyst relations for Vuepoint.

"After having the luxury as an industry analyst to do due diligence on many successful companies in this and other markets, I chose Vuepoint because it has an aggressive, experienced team, has organically developed sophisticated yet easy-to-use e-learning technology, has a strong client base among the Fortune 500, and most importantly is a results-oriented company focused on improving the bottom line for customers," said Mr. Dodd. "I'm excited that my expertise will enhance Vuepoint's channel partnerships and strengthen the offerings to customers."

Mr. Dodd brings to Vuepoint a unique combination of skills and practical experience in both the business technology industry and the education system. Mr. Dodd has created and managed a professional services team to serve clients such as the Associated Press, Bell Atlantic, Merrill Lynch and United Airlines. The perspective gained from such experiences such as profit and revenue responsibilities, contributed to his success as a senior analyst at Jupiter Communications.

With access to senior executives within many of the world's largest professional services companies, Mr. Dodd covered a variety of issues at Jupiter, including ASPs, organizational structures, professional services, and staffing. His depth of knowledge and early focus on emerging technologies and trends, such as globalization, led to coverage in the BBC and Wall Street Journal. His numerous reports, speeches and panel appearances garnered him coverage in such outlets as ABC World News Tonight, Business Week, CNN, CNBC, The New York Times, Time, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post. Additionally, through the Teach for America program, Mr. Dodd learned and used professional teaching methods within the Los Angeles public school system and gained his Clear Teaching Credential from the state of California.
