3Com and Vuepoint Combine E-Learning and Marketing to Reinvent 3Com Brand

Vuepoint E-Learning Software Enables 3Com To Roll Out New Brand To Employees & Channel Partners

LONG ISLAND, N.Y., Nov. 13, 2000 Vuepoint, a comprehensive e-learning company focused on creating competitive organizations, and 3Com Corporation (Nasdaq: COMS) combine the power of e-learning and marketing to communicate and build the Fortune 300 companys new brand identity with a phased rollout to employees and channel partners.

In August, 3Com launched a $100 million global integrated brand campaign that captures the networking companys focus on delivering functionally rich yet radically simple network solutions for businesses and consumers. Taking a nontraditional approach to rolling out the new identity, 3Com turned to Vuepoint and e-learning as a means to articulate the new brand, build awareness and effectively cut costs associated with traditional marketing avenues. The e-learning initiative began with 3Com employees in October and is scheduled for dissemination to 40,000 worldwide channel partners early next year.

They took advantage of Vuepoints Offline Viewer, a feature that allows users to learn anytime or anywhere, giving them the option of taking instruction while traveling on a plane, for instance.
