GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Employs Vuepoint Learning System to Accelerate Sales Knowledge and Increase Speed-to-Market Advantage
Vuepoint awarded for contributing to growth and development of entire sales force
LONG ISLAND, N.Y., May 14, 2002 - Vuepoint, a comprehensive eLearning provider that allows global enterprises to rapidly channel proprietary knowledge to the entire value chain, today announces that GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (GSK CH) has communicated and implemented critical sales programs four months faster using the Vuepoint Learning System (VLS), which has significantly reduced training costs, generated a return on investment of 5.3 percent, and bolstered productivity by cutting travel-related downtime. GSK CH has also recognized Vuepoint's contribution to the growth and development of its entire sales force with the Commitment to Development Award for 2001.
"VLS allows us to shave four months off the cycle time of our sales programs, and that speed-to-market advantage is incredibly powerful," said Doug Willner, Director of Leadership and Development for GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare. "VLS has also freed our sales representatives from traveling to many training seminars and significantly reduced the amount of workshop time, giving them more time to focus on selling our products. "
GSK CH, which develops, markets and sells its over-the-counter medicines, oral care and nutritionals healthcare to channel partners throughout the U.S., has used Vuepoint's system for nearly three years to train the division's sales team on introduction of new sales systems and processes as well as skill assessment for advanced training program participation. VLS is also a critical component of its associate induction system. During that time, users' scores and course consistency have improved, training time has been cut in half, and practice skill time has doubled. GSK CH plans to use VLS to educate the sales team about new product features as well.
VLS 3.0 - a complete Learning Management System (LMS), Learning Content Management System (LCMS) and collaboration tool - allows GSK CH to rapidly design and deploy courses based on proprietary knowledge and so accelerate new product launches and marketing plans. VLS also reduces the time and cost of content creation, delivers up-to-date, personalized learning to employees, and tracks and assesses learners' progress. VLS is rapidly implemented and integrates easily with off-the-shelf eLearning courses.

"Smart companies such as GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare understand that our approach to eLearning transforms an internal training tool into a valuable revenue-generation weapon," said Ara Ohanian, CEO of Vuepoint. "The cost savings and quick ROI that GSK CH has realized is another testament to our focus on rapidly producing measurable business results."
In addition to superior software, Vuepoint provides personalized and responsive services to develop and deliver eLearning programs that reap real business results. As evidence of this, GSK CH awarded Vuepoint's Mike DeBello the Commitment to Development Award, given to individuals inside or outside the company who most contributed to the growth and development of the entire sales force. Lauding Mr. DeBello's commitment, responsiveness, insightful suggestions and positive attitude, the award highlights that "his efforts have contributed greatly to our significant increases in development opportunities in 2001."
