Vuepoint Meets Safe Harbor Standards for International Privacy and Security
-- Signals Vuepoint's Commitment to European Expansion--
LONG ISLAND, NY, March 30, 2004 - Vuepoint Corp., a leader in helping companies transfer product and brand knowledge to their sales channels, announced today that it has formally registered with United States Department of Commerce in adherence with the Safe Harbor framework. This allows Vuepoint to serve end users in any European Union (EU) country from a single installation in the United States and still meet the privacy standards of the EU.
Safe Harbor was developed by the United States Department of Commerce in coordination with the European Commission to offer consistency between business conducted in the United States and the EU. Approved by the EU in July of 2000, Safe Harbor provides legal protection and a framework allowing for the transfer of personal information from EU countries to the United States.
"As a business, Vuepoint helps our clients with one of their most important assets - their proprietary knowledge. Just as with our latest product release, VLS 4.0, Vuepoint's Safe Harbor compliance allows scalability and ease of use from a single installation," said Ara Ohanian, CEO of Vuepoint. "In today's global economy, Vuepoint wishes to make it as easy as possible for companies to use our technology to improve sales results in their channel."
