U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Awards Vuepoint With Patent for Integrated Learning System

Approval of 1997 Patent Application Reflects Leadership in Anticipating Industry Evolution and Customer Needs

LONG ISLAND, N.Y., July 25, 2002 - Vuepoint today announced that it has been granted a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its unique integrated learning system.

The patent, U.S. number 6,347,943, covers the Vuepoint Learning System (VLS)-specifically recognizing the thoroughness and faultless engineering for the complete integrated approach-which provides individual courses of instruction for each user through authoring, assessment, instruction, content management, and collaboration.

Companies such as Toyota have recognized the business impact of Vuepoint's integrated approach. Rick Taniguchi, Associate Dean of eLearning at the University of Toyota, part of the company's "Business Revolution" campaign to streamline overall corporate operations, says, "VLS is so complete, it's the only eLearning system we need. It meets our functional requirements, and eliminates the cost and headache of integrating offerings from other eLearning vendors."

Vuepoint's system can be installed in an afternoon, and the company's Success Package guarantees that clients will have complete installation, training, and effective content running within thirty days allowing clients immediate impact for the business solution they are seeking. In addition, VLS reduces the time and expense through the reuse of content-which is stored in a central repository-and can be shared and updated as often as needed.

By using VLS, clients are provided with a tool that does not require the involvement of IT or systems integrators nor requires an understanding of Web technologies, like JavaScript and HTML, therefore making it a realistic choice for marketing and sales managers responsible for revenue generation. The platform enables easy authoring, delivery, and re-use of customized content, which is well-suited for use in product launches and product support.

"As the market moves toward enhancing job performance knowledge and better supporting sales and product support, the patent can help assure our current and future customers that we have constructed our technology to directly meet their needs," said Ara Ohanian, CEO.

Fortune 500 companies such as 3Com, AOL, Black & Decker, GlaxoSmithKline, The Hartford Insurance & Financial Services Corporation, and Toyota use Vuepoint's patented system to train employees and improve speed-to-market advantage.
