David Weekley Homes, Second-largest Privately Owned U.S. Homebuilder, Selects Vuepoint Learning System for Personalization & Ability to Measure Results
Successful homebuilder to use e-learning to improve employee performance
Long Island, N.Y., April 30, 2001 - David Weekley Homes, the second-largest privately owned homebuilder in the United States, selects Vuepoint Learning System (VLS) by Vuepoint, a comprehensive e-learning company with a business-savvy approach, to improve employee performance within the company that Fortune magazine cited last year as one of the 100 best companies to work for.
"Our employees are very important to us, and we chose CERTPOINT because its platform's capabilities coincide perfectly with our training needs," said David Weekley, President and CEO of David Weekley Homes. "Not only is CERTPOINT the best at personalizing courses to maximize the benefits of training, they allow us to measure the results of our employees."
Using the Vuepoint Learning System (VLS), a platform for creating, delivering, and managing knowledge enterprise-wide, David Weekley Homes is rolling out 16 e-learning courses over the next year to 1,200 employees in 14 markets across the nation. The courses will educate employees in customer service, sales, marketing, and the policies and procedures of the company. With VLS, David Weekley Homes can deliver customized content to users in any number of locations, track usage and test scores, and manage individual or departmental progress toward stated performance goals
E-learning expert Dr. James Moshinksie, professor and director of the Corporate E-Learning Center at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, worked with the homebuilder to create course content and also designed the program to maximize the capabilities of VLS in tracking learner achievements. "With Vuepoint, David Weekley Homes can quickly determine how each course topic is received, processed, and applied to the workplace," said Dr. Moshinksie.

"David Weekley Homes is an innovative company that is constantly finding ways to improve itself and educate the public on homebuilding," said Ara Ohanian, CEO of Vuepoint. Currently, viewers of the NBC "Today Show" are voting online for the features of a home that David Weekley Homes is building, partnered with Ourhouse.com. The house is to be auctioned with all proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity. "Additionally, their dedication to enhancing employees' skills sets the bar for other organizations, so we're very happy to be a part of making that happen."
