CERTPOINT - Vuepoint Welcomes High-Tech Investors to Board of Directors

LONG ISLAND, N.Y., July 24, 2001 – Vuepoint, a business-savvy e-learning company providing a single platform combining a learning content management system (LCMS) and a learning management system (LMS), welcomes to its board of directors three new members with experience investing in and rapidly building valuable technology companies.
Joining the board are Barry Rubenstein, General Partner at Wheatley Partners; Lawrence Howard of Hudson Ventures; and Eli Oxenhorn, private investor. Wheatley Partners, which has funded and advised companies such as Commerce One, VerticalNet, Apollo International and VCampus, has taken the lead in a round of over $11 million in funding secured by Vuepoint. Hudson Venture Partners, a New York-based firm with expertise in operating and growing quality businesses such as WebMethods (NASDAQ:WEBM) and Pathlight Technology, is also an investor.

The addition of Messrs. Rubenstein, Howard and Oxenhorn brings the total number of board members to five, including Ara Ohanian, Vuepoint’s President and Chief Executive Officer, and Constantin Ohanian, Co-founder and Executive Chairman.

The new members bring a depth of experience to Vuepoint’s board. Barry Rubenstein has been investing in technology companies since 1976 and was a founder or founding consultant to several, including Applied Digital Data Systems, Inc., Safeguard Scientifics, Inc., Novell, Inc. and Cheyenne Software, Inc., where he served as chairman and CEO. Rubenstein is serving or has served on the boards of USWeb, Opus360, Picazo Communications, CosmoCom, FatWire, and Source Media. He holds a master’s in electrical engineering and computer sciences from New York University.
After practicing medicine from 1981 to 1988, Lawrence Howard co-founded Presstek, Inc., a publicly held graphic arts company whose market value grew from $12 million to $800 million under his direction as president and CEO. Howard serves on the boards of several Hudson Ventures portfolio companies, including Intellibridge and Intuitive Products International (IPI) as well as Vuepoint. He is also on the board of trustees of Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School, the Federation Employment and Guidance Services, OPCENTER and the Diabetes Research Institute. He graduated from the University of New Hampshire and New York Medical College.
Eli Oxenhorn is a private investor in emerging-growth technology companies and has served as an advisor to Wheatley Partners. From 1984 to 1994, Mr. Oxenhorn served as Chairman and CEO of Cheyenne Software, Inc., which he built into a billion-dollar industry leader in providing back-up and archival solutions for networked computers. Mr. Oxenhorn has also held several senior management positions at Gates/FA, including Chairman of the Board from 1987 to 1989. From 1974 to 1983, Mr. Oxenhorn held various senior technology positions at Warner Communications.
