Mohamed Awad Osman (known to his coworkers simply as Awad) was born in Sudan in 1980, where he lived with his family until his father (a talented chemical engineer) immigrated to the United Arab Emirates to pursue work in 1989.

In 1997, Awad moved to Berlin to pursue his higher education, where he would spend the next eight years and earn a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the Technical University of Berlin. During this time, Awad also began building an impressive resumé of professional experience in web design, software development and various other software-related positions. In 2005, Awad returned to the UAE to work for HCT – CERT (Higher Colleges of Technology – Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training) in Abu Dhabi, where he worked until 2007.
