What’s driving the e-learning market in France? CERTPOINT’s European General Manager Maria van Vlodrop recently aired her views at the i-Learning Forum in Paris.
Interviewed during this e-leading conference and exhibition, Maria identified three key trends for 2012 which will dominate the French market for technology-based learning.
What are they?
First: SaaS and mobile delivery will see huge growth. Mobile learning because it provides performance support at the point of need and SaaS thanks to its offering of simpler, more effective, training operations.
Second: the LMS will change. Learning Management Systems will move from simple ‘push and track’ delivery of e-learning courses to peer-to-peer networking, rankings, reviews, sophisticated search and work-based assignments. These new ‘Second Generation Platforms’, as Maria describes them, will be used both inside and outside the organization.
Third: learning will become invisible. People are becoming increasingly intuitive about finding and absorbing new information. They neither know nor care that they are learning, they are simply pleased to know that there is a tool that can help them to do their jobs more easily and more effectively.
CERTPOINT is a long-standing player in the French e-learning market. The CERTPOINT learning platform “Toyota Connect” – developed for Toyota Motor Europe in 2005 – was championed by Toyota France to become the role model for operations across Europe. Today Toyota Connect is the glue that binds autonomous Toyota dealerships together ensuring a unified brand message in over 40 countries and languages.
L’Oréal, another French client, has rolled out an international programme of learning that includes self-service learning, reference materials and work assignments. L’Oréal’s example, said Maria, shows that France is one of the most sophisticated e-learning markets in Europe today.
